This year's Jerry Award will be divided into three categories..New Projects, Ongoing Projects, and How We Do Our Project.  All three categories must pertain to use of, training in, or computers or electronic devices.
 
New:
That is a program run by or in association with the user group. The program has to have been in existence since December 2004.
 
Ongoing:
A program run by, or in association with, the User Group.  The program should have been in existence for a number of years.
 
How:
This category requires you to provide documentation on how you run your program.
  • Where did you get the idea?
  • How did you find the resources, space, money, etc
  • What documentation did you create or find.
  • What software, if any is used in the program and where did you find it.
  • How do you publize your program?
  • How do you plan do make the information available to other groups that may be interested?
 
In the categories of New, Ongoing and How,  the following information must be included in your application:
 
  • Name and address of the user group.
  • President, with email and phone number
  • User group representative
  • Contact person for the project
  • And additional organizations helping with the project
  • If there is another group involved, Name of the other group and address, and a contact person, and email and phone number for the contact person.
  • A 250 word or less description of the project
  • Any documentation such as newspaper clippings, awards or any additional information that pertains to your project.
  • And any additional organizations helping with the project
  • What you plan to do with the money if you should win.
 
Also for the How part of the Jerry Awards you must include

a.       All documents used with the project

b.      Any software and how it was obtained

c.       Any manuals or instructions used with your project.

d.      Any additional documentation that you feel best works with your project.

 

If your group is doing a community service do not hesitate to apply for the Jerry award. No matter how big or small your project is, the judges will be looking for how your group uses technology to help in your community.
