2006 JERRY
AWARDS CONTEST CRITERIA The Jerry Awards Contest is divided into
three categories:
New Community Service
Project,
Ongoing Community Service Project,
and How the Community Service Project is
Managed. All three categories must pertain
to use of, or training in, computers or
electronic devices. The Contest opens on June 1, 2006 and all
entries must be submitted online in PDF
files placed within a single ZIP file no later than September 30, 2006.

All of the entries for 2004
and 2005 are available.
To make the 2006 Jerry Award Contest more
competitive, and to encourage User Groups
who have not before entered the contest,
those User Groups who won a monetary prize
in the 2005 Contest (awarded at the 2006
Annual Conference) may not enter this year,
but they are encouraged to enter the contest
again in 2007 (awards to be given at the
2008 Annual Conference). Groups receiving an
Honorable Mention at the 2006 Annual
Conference are eligible to enter again this
year. New Community Service Project:
A program run by, or in association with,
the User Group. The program has to have started in 2006.
Ongoing Community Service Project:
A program run by, or in association with,
the User Group. The program should have
been in existence for a number of years.
How the Community Service Project is
Managed: This category requires the User Group to
provide documentation on how it runs the
program.
Where did you get the idea?
How did you find the resources, space,
money, etc.? What documentation did you create or find?
What software, if any, is used in the
program and where did you find/acquire it.
How do you publicize your project? How do you plan to make the information
available to other Groups that may be
interested? In the categories of New, Ongoing and How,
the following information must be included
in your application:
Name and address of the User Group
President (include email and phone number)
User Group representative Contact person for the project (include
email and phone number) Any additional organizations assisting with
the project If there is another Group involved, name of
that Group, address, contact person, and
email and phone number for that person A 250 word or less description of the
project Any documentation such as newspaper
clippings, awards or any additional
information that pertain to your project Any additional organizations helping with
the project What you plan to do with the money if you
should win
